ACPPRC Delegation’s Successful Taiwan Visit

With a view to facilitating the communications, exchanges and positive interactions with the overseas Chinese organizations, politicians and mass media in the Island of Taiwan, demonstrating our determination to uphold the spirit of the “1992 Consensus” and pushing forward the peaceful reunification of China, Xiangmo Huang led a 48-strong ACPPRC delegation on a 2015 Taiwan visit from 7th to 10th June to conduct amicable exchanges and promotional activities. During its stay in Taiwan, the delegation actively promoted, wherever it went, the concept that “both the mainland and Taiwan belong to China, the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation are of one family, only through cooperation can a win-win situation be attained and nothing but working towards one China is a viable option and the righteous way to move into the future.”

The visiting delegation held talks with Hung Shiu-chu at the Legislative Council. Hung Shiu-chu explained to the delegation the current election situation in Taiwan and pointed out that the places between both sides of the Straits are in dire need of peace, stability and development. The delegation presented an ACPPRC bannerette to Hung Shiu-chu. President Xiangmo Huang said that the delegation’s peaceful visit to Taiwan was aimed at strengthening the relationship among the descendants of the Chinese nation.

At the headquarters of the Nationalist Party,Best Replica Watches the delegation met with Hau Lung-bin, Vice Chairman of the Nationalist Party. During the conversation, President Xiangmo Huang said that we were all Chinese; wherever we came from or reside in, the same blood of the Chinese descendants flowed in us all, which were steeped in the Chinese culture and tradition; therefore, for the interests of the Chinese nation, overseas Chinese are prepared to work actively towards fostering a stable, harmonious relationship across the Straits.

The delegation also visited Chairman Yok Mu-ming of the New Party. Both sides reached a consensus on how to strength the exchanges and cooperation between them, to oppose the “independence of Taiwan”, promote the peaceful reunification of China and endorse the one China policy.

The visiting delegation also held a discussion with Vincent Siew and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with Vincent Siew about the promotion of trade development and cooperation between the mainland and Taiwan and the furthering or escalating the level and scope of cooperation. President Xiangmo Huang advised that the overseas Chinese in Australia are more than happy to make use of its unique advantage and prominent roles to boost the advancement of the whole process.

During their talks with Mr. Chien Han-sun, President of the Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations in Taiwan, the visiting delegation exchanged views on their impressions and experiences in mobilizing the overseas Chinese as a cohesive force throughout the world and accelerate the early realisation of the China Dream.

During their stay in Taiwan, the delegation called on their counterpart for the promotion of peaceful reunification of China and had a cordial discussion with Mr. Juen Tsch Kuo, Chairman of the Cross-Straits Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China. The visiting delegation paid a special visit to General Hsu Li-nung, who in his advanced age of 97 is still active in making contributions to the exchanges, peaceful and stable development across the Straits and presented him with some souvenirs.

President Xiangmo Huang and six honourary presidents donated 5 million Taiwanese dollars to the Kaohsiung City Cerebralpalsy Association, of which 2 million came from President Xiangmo Huang personally. At the presentation ceremony, President Xiangmo Huang said that the Chinese nationals throughout the world were of one family; when one party was in need, people from four corners would come to their assistance, which was the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation; it was not only the obligation of us the overseas Chinese, but also our wishes to make our modest contributions for the wellbeing of the residents in both the mainland and Taiwan.

During their Taiwan visit, the delegation visited the public TV station and Centre Radio Taiwan International and held interactive talks with them. In all the press coverages, President Xiangmo Huang emphasized that we were descendants of the Chinese nation and a united and strong China would not only constitute happiness for the residents across the Straits, but also to all those sixty million overseas Chinese scattered throughout the world.
