Xiangmo Huang stands down as ACPPRC President to focus on growing his business while confident about the Australian economy

Well-known Australian Chinese community leader, Mr Xiangmo Huang, has announced his resignation as President of the Australian Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China (ACPPRC), at its annual meeting on 25 November 2017.

Mr Huang, who is also head of property development and investment company Yuhu Group Australia, said he was standing down to dedicate more time to his rapidly growing business. Mr Huang said his company would continue its active expansion phase over the coming years underpinned by the great confidence he has in Australia’s future economic prospects.

Over 2016 and 2017, Yuhu Group has played a leading role in terms of commercial property acquisition and the company is also increasing its investment activities in agriculture and fisheries.

Mr Huang said given the growing demands of his various business interests, it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to divide his attention between this and the presidency of ACPPRC. He will however continue to serve as Chairman of the Oceanic Alliance of the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China (OAPPRC), which he noted was less demanding of his time. ACPPRC members paid warm tribute to Mr Huang and thanked him for his leadership and service during his term as president.

In his speech, Mr Huang emphasised the positive role the ACPPRC played in enhancing Australia-China relations as an independent community organisation. He stressed that ACPPRC membership held its own views on confidently and patiently promoting peaceful reunification and was not affiliated with government either Chinese or Australian.

Mr Huang said ACPPRC members genuinely believed the peaceful reunification of China was in the best Panerai Replica Watches interests of the Chinese people as well as global harmony and stability more broadly. He noted this view was in fact consistent with the diplomatic position held by the Australian government since 1972.

Representatives at the annual meeting voted for current executive president Mr Qun Shao to succeed Mr Xiangmo Huang as the new President of ACPPRC. Mr Huang wished him every success in the role.
