Eyes on China-Sichuan
The Hon. Philip Ruddock, federal Attorney General, and the Hon. Gary Hardgrave, federal Minister for Immigration and Citizen Affairs, attended and witnessed the launching of "2004 Eyes on China-Sichuan" medical mission.

ACPPRC organised the mission "Eyes on China 2004-Sichuan" held in June 2004 in Sichuan, as part of the commenmoration activities for the 100th birthday of Mr. Deng Xiao Ping, the architect of the socio-economic reform and open foreign policy of the modern China.

The medical specialists volunteering to participate in this mission came from Australia, China's mainland and Taiwan. Carrying on the spirit of unselfishly love and sacrifice of "Eyes on Tibet", they endeavoured to restore the eye sights, as well as the hope and light of life of those who suffer from cataract in Sichuan.

ACPPRC also established an ophthalmology training centre in Chengdu, Sichuan in 2004.
