William Chiu made a welcome speech. Many Official Guests commended and pledged support to ACPPRC’s Eyes on China Projects -- a much needed charitable project which generated enormous goodwill and an ever lasting friendship between Australia and China.
On behalf of ACPPRC, the Honorary Senior Chairman Mr.Frank Chou presented a vote of thanks to all.
"Eyes on China – Sichuan and Guangdong" free cataract treatment project was completed in October 2009. 33 members of the medical team and 53 members of the trade team participated the opening ceremonies. 233 cases cataract removal operations have been conducted in Maoming city of Guangdong, and 271 cases conducted in Dujiangyan area of Sichuan in China.
In total, 504 cataract patients have regained eyesight and enjoyed normal life.
“Eyes on China” Eye Surgeon specialists in medical team also helped to train local doctors, so that they can continue to treat other cataract patients in the future.
ACPPRC also donated one microscope and one sterilizer to Maoming Municipal Hospital in Guangdong province, two sterilizers and two sets of instruments to Hospital of Sinohydro 10th Bureau of China in Sichuan province.
